Series 9 of record group 84-48 consists of photographs providing a broad visual record of the activities of the Michigan Dept. of Conservation, Forestry Division (and its successor the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources) for the years 1900-77. Includes photographs relating to: Land Economic Survey; Civilian Conservation Corps; forest management; fire prevention and control; recreation; logging; timber resources; state forests; tree farms; and other forestry-, nature- and conservation-related subjects. Consists of 2,500 b&w photographs (various sizes) and 1,000 negatives (620 mm. in size).
